This canvas was cleaned, flattened and mounted onto a cradled board. The canvas has distortions over the surface as well as shrinkage, which widened the tears.
LINING
If a canvas has enough physical damage, a full lining of the canvas could be
warranted over multiple patches. Over time, patches will inevitably show from
the front of the canvas.
This brittle canvas needed conditioning before lining, filling and touchup.
